During Your Visit
You will meet with our experienced dentist, Dr. Liao, to discuss your symptoms and why you feel you may have obstructive sleep apnea. After reviewing your symptoms and associated health risks, Dr. Liao will explain the process and let you know your treatment options.
After your consultation, we will send you home with a ring-like device called the SleepImage. You will wear the ring while you sleep, and it will collect and transmit vital signs and other information. Dr. Liao will review the data before your next meeting.
If test results indicate that you have obstructive sleep apnea, Dr. Liao will take a series of images using the iTero intraoral scanner. The iTero scanner is a small, handheld wand that takes detailed pictures of your mouth, creating a complete 3-D digital model.
Dr. Liao will use these scans to design your ProSomnus Evo oral appliance. The appliance holds your lower jaw forward but relaxed, keeping the airway open during sleep. The system provides results comparable to CPAP treatment for many patients without noise and discomfort.
You will come into the office for a titration visit every three weeks. Dr. Liao will adjust the appliance according to your vital signs and ensure you have healthy oxygen levels at night.
